![]() ![]() I hope a new update is in the works and resolves this issue. Is there anyway to convert it back to auto-hibernate or should I just manually put it in hibernate mode each night?īTW - SA said they think BIOS 1.4 was supposed to remove the "sleep" ability of the power button. This can cause the system have more battery drain than the traditional the S3/S4 power mode. Now the xps is always quick to fire up even after sleeping for 10+ hours.although this seems to be coming at a cost of battery life. The 2-in-1 notebook supports the Modern Standby mode, this mode is what keeps the system switched on and is what responds instantly if the power idle mode is configured and connected standby enabled. which makes me think it converted to hibernate after sleeping for so long. On previous BIOS version the laptop would take a bit longer to fire up in the morning, but it only burned 5-10% battery. That's because Dell decided to disable S3. After a reboot there will be no sleep option available. ![]() First of all, you need to disable the S0 standby mode by adding a registry key. I ran a sleep study and noticed that over 10 hours i burned about 30% of battery.which is upper-normal(?). Disabling the modern standby (S0) and enabling the classic sleep mode (S3) is pretty tricky, but possible. ![]()
